Due to Operating Sytems (Android or iOS), limitations, support for the control of music playback through the Remote Control is limited to:
- For iPhones: the FUSAR app's music player (local files only!)
- For Android: the Google Play music player
Other devices support music control, why cannot the Remote control do the same?
The Remote Control is a Bluetooth Low Energy device, this is what enables us to power it for months with a coin cell battery rather than having to recharge it every few hours. The advantage is that it enables us to control a lot of elements in the app, but then the app has to communicate with the Operating System to do non-app specific behavior. Some are opened by the OS, others are not.
Bluetooth Devices that can control music players through the OS implement different Bluetooth profiles that cannot be implemented in Bluetooth Low Energy.
